North Sea Gas Development in Times of Energy Transition

For the next two decades, natural gas will be essential for Northwestern Europe's energy needs. Domestically produced gas adheres to strict environmental standards, emits 30% less CO2 than imports, enhances energy independence, and boosts the local economy. Yet, objections to natural gas developments are increasing. Continuous dialogue is vital to address these concerns, as well as innovative solutions to further reduce emissions and enhance sustainability in gas production, as part of the energy transition, thereby setting a standard for future North Sea energy projects.
